 “Damnation, Caruthers!”  Commander Portly-Smyth waived the telegram in the air.  “The bloody Indigenous Peoples* are revolting again.   They have surrounded Gambezyport.  The Sultan has taken refuge in the British Ambassador’s residence, and is hiding under the bed.   So far, the Royal Marines have been able to keep the greasy beggars out of the residency, but they are running out of ammunition for the Gatling Gun.  What will we do?   We’ll have to tell the Admiral. That’s what we’ll have to do.”   

 Lieutenant Caruthers looked up from his dog eared copy of “Punch”.  “If we disturb Admiral Ballsy’s weekly Whist game, there’s no telling where it will end.   Don’t bother telling him – just send a gunboat.  The Terror is in port.  She can be there in a day and a half.  By the time Old Ballsy finds out about it, the Terror will have settled their hash.”
