Everyone feared that the day would come.

No one ever knew that tomorrow would be the day.

Join us for Captain’s Log #44 and answer “A Call to Arms.” The Klingons have crossed the border and attacked the Federation, destroying several battle stations in the defense line, along with a dozen starships. The Federation is now at war!

Captain's Log #44 includes fiction and information for all of our games including updates, new ships, information about the Gorn government, a history of the Lyran Democratic Republic Navy, and new scenarios.

Star Fleet Battles: This game gains seven new scenarios, information on space boars, campaign updates to account for the Peladines, Proposals Board, Ask Vanaxilth, Platinum Victory by Peter D. Bakija, Triangulum Galaxy Primer, Battlegroup and new ships (jumbo auxiliary cruiser, jumbo auxiliary heavy carrier, jumbo auxiliary battle carrier, jumbo auxiliary PF tender, jumbo auxiliary space control ship, jumbo auxiliary troop transport, variant jumbo auxiliary cruiser, and civilian jumbo ore carrier).

Federation Commander: You will find three new scenarios and new battle tugs for the Klingons (BT7), Lyrans (Cougar), Kzintis, and Federation. Patrick Doyle wrote his Command at Origins 2011 article. There are also Command Notes by players.

Federation & Empire: This game announces that ISC War is available. The Klingon Eastern Marches scenario gets updated.

Starmada: Two ships for Starmada Admiralty and two ships for Starmada Nova are provided.

A Call to Arms: Star Fleet is introduced.

And there are still more articles: Ten questions, Awards, Command the Future, Input Guide, Why, Proposals Board, Background Questions, Galactic Conquest, Prime Directive (the Borak), and six new Borak ship cards for Star Fleet Battle Force.

Supports Federation Commander, Star Fleet Battles, Federation & Empire, Prime Directive, Star Fleet Battle Force, SFB Galactic Conquest, Starmada, A Call to Arms: Star Fleet, and Star Fleet Warlord.

The colorized SSDs from this issue are sold separately as is the Supplemental File (which includes more battle groups, more tactical notes, after-action reports, and more new ships for Star Fleet Battles and Federation Commander).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
