Frandor's Keep
by Luke
Publisher: Kenzer & Company
Date Added: 03/25/2024 23:33:59
pixel_trans.gif Frandor's Keep Disclaimer: My review is for running this as a replacement for B2 in Old-School Essentials and that factors heavily into my review. It's probably five stars for Hackmaster. This is a tough four stars to rate, because the module is PACKED with content, quests, and dripping with character. I'll get the good and the great out of the way quickly: Good: - Plenty of lore and characters Great: - Maps - Visual aids - Bookmarked PDF Negatives: - Don't like the setting: I've run five sessions in this setting and it clashes entirely with the worlds I like to run. The economy is scraping by, the characters are unforgiving, the quests are lacking a flavor and color of fantasy and wonder present in B/X and beyond. This is no longer a Keep that you can add to just any fantasy world without many modifications. That's always on the table, and anticipated by the module, but in this case I decided to run as-written and suffered for it. It's my mistake, but as-written I found it less enjoyable overall...

Lost Atlanteans
by Michael
Publisher: Bloodstone Press
Date Added: 03/25/2024 21:35:42
pixel_trans.gif Lost Atlanteans Not only do you get a new goddess to use, but a bunch of new and updated Domains for your divine casters. New Divine Domains always add an extra flavor to the cleric, druid/shaman, and war priests in which you have some new combination of spells and abilities to use with your chosen deity. With Amazon & Valkyries they have suggestion for most of the pantheons they have presented thus for, and some ideas for deities beyond the campaign such as the Aztec, Hindi, and Japanese pantheons (would love a list covering those pantheons since there is sparse support/material on those cultures available...cough ...cough). ...

Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands (OSR)
by John
Publisher: Raging Swan Press
Date Added: 03/25/2024 19:47:02
pixel_trans.gif Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands (OSR) This is not only an amazing series of adventures, but also a top drawer setting material as well. You even get VTT suitable maps if online play is your method of playing. The environment is beautifully made for low level play and has a significant number of seeds for future activities.

pixel_trans.gif Cover full page - Jungle Ruins - RPG Stock Art It's not obvious to someone looking at your listing that this is AI-generated art. I was suspicious, and found the search tag in drivethrurpg which filtered these out, and is the only reason I know. Especially with the high prices associated to these, I'd expect the fact that they're AI generated to be much more prominently called out. I purchased this without knowing, and now cannot use it in my publications.

pixel_trans.gif Delta Green: Briefing Documents I had the older version on a different account that I lost access to and there are missing pages like the character creation etc which made the old one invaluable to have at the table for a player to whip up a new Agent

The Diocesi of Montfroid
by Christopher
Publisher: Sine Nomine Publishing
Date Added: 03/25/2024 16:19:24
pixel_trans.gif The Diocesi of Montfroid The Diocesi of Montfroid provides a nice starter setting divided roughly into thirds: 1. Gazetteer, 2. GM Tools, and 3. a 4-level dungeon. Some thought has been put into the plight of the new GM with a modest amount of explicit advice on consuming and using the material, and in general I find there is a nearly perfect balance between providing enough to work with while avoiding becoming cumbersome with too many details and particularities to track or remember. It's a solidly worked out foundation which any GM can pick up, run, and elaborate through play over time, and it provides an excellent example of what someone could do with the tools provided by WWN and the Atlas of Latter Earth. Well done! I look forward to using this with my group....

Tarkalor's Keep
by Clay L.
Publisher: Chaosium
Date Added: 03/25/2024 14:40:27
pixel_trans.gif Tarkalor's Keep Tarkalor's Keep is a straight-forward adventure with a decently sticky moral choice presented to the players as the climax in a famous, if criminally (heh) neglected, location. The design is more like a *Forbidden Lands* adventure site than a scripted adventure: the location, current situation, and inhabitants are detailed *in media res*, and it is entirely up to the GM (and players) to determine what actually happens (*happy dance*). The moral choices presented to the players are compelling and I would expect them -- unless your players are murderous hobos -- to cause your group some solid debate in how to approach and solve the problems presented as various runes, passions, and backgrounds come into conflict. It is not *necessarily* a combat-heavy adventure, though it could devolve into nastiness; certainly, new heroes may find the situation quite dangerous (I would encourage any GM to upscale some of the NPCs to slightly overmatch their own players, if necessary, to help them ...

GODS - Core Rulebook English Version
by Joel
Publisher: Arkhane Asylum Publishing
Date Added: 03/25/2024 07:20:45
pixel_trans.gif GODS - Core Rulebook English Version A vivid, dark fantasy setting. Light rules that maintain some depth. A few notable typos, but nothing that obscures the rules. While the setting is definitely not for everyone, it is thoughtfully realized across the first half of the book. Character creation is replete with options to create unique Chosen from every corner of the Wildlands and empowered by all manner of divinity.

pixel_trans.gif Treehouse Dreams Lite Treehouse Dreams is a game about building together a secret home in a marvelous giant tree. This game remind me the Andy Griffiths serie "The 13-Storey Treehouse". We populate room by room our dream tree house with prompts. By doing this we talk about us as little or as much as we like. This game is for you if you like to co-create and co-imagine beautiful stories

Fear's Sharp Little Needles - 26 Modern Day Call of Cthulhu Scenarios
by Ly W.
Publisher: Stygian Fox
Date Added: 03/24/2024 22:33:32
pixel_trans.gif Fear's Sharp Little Needles - 26 Modern Day Call of Cthulhu Scenarios I read the book and ran a few of them. Phlebotomy: My favorite. The only longer scenario in this book, usually takes 2-3 sessions. I've run it multiple times and each time we created a wonderful story. The complexity of the main NPC character is the charm. Separation Anxiety: It's connected with Phlebotomy and I ran them together several times. The ending scene is fun. It adds 1 session to Phlebotomy. Pulvis Et Umbra Sumus: This scenario has an almost poetic and philosophical tune to the latter half. My players liked it, though they complained about the ending scene being too deadly. 1-2 sessions. The Tormiss CRD, Model Z-17: Fun, but too few material provided. I'd like to see it rewritten in full length. 1 session....
